SmartDocuMentor was brought to life by a dedicated team of BSIT students who share one mission—to transform the traditional internship documentation process into a smarter, faster, and more accessible digital experience for CTU–Daanbantayan. 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇: Striving for Excellence: CTU-DB Opens Day 1 of Research Publication Workshop

Today, December 09, 2025, the Research and Development Office of Cebu Technological University–Daanbantayan Campus (CTU-DB) officially commenced the first day of the Research Publication Workshop at SureStay Plus Hotel. The morning session began with welcome remarks from Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon, Jr., Assistant Campus Director and Dean of Instruction, followed by a message from Dr. Rowena P. Dato-on, OIC Campus Director. This was followed by the Statement of Purpose delivered by Dr. Sutero S. Macabudbud, Jr., Coordinator for BSHM Researches. Dr. Iris L. Gulbe, Coordinator for BST and BIT Research, then introduced the participants, while Ritchie L. Gahob, Coordinator for BSIE Researches, introduced the event’s resource speaker. The seminar proper followed, with Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez leading a comprehensive review of the basics of futures thinking and the JC3 guidelines. In the afternoon, Dr. Ybañez returned to discuss NRCP membership opportunities and the fundamentals of scientific writing. The event reinforced CTU’s ongoing commitment to research excellence and professional growth. Day 1 concluded with strong engagement among the attendees, setting a solid foundation for the succeeding sessions of the workshop. As part of the 16th-anniversary celebration of Cebu Technological University–Daanbantayan Campus (CTU-DB), the new Administration Building was officially opened today, December 5. The program opened with a thanksgiving mass led by Fr. Randy C. Nebria, the Resident Priest of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santa Rosa de Lima Parish, Daanbantayan, Cebu. A ribbon-cutting ceremony followed, headed by Dr. Romeo P. Montecillo, Vice President for Student Affairs, together with campus and faculty officials, including Dr. Rowena P. Dato-on, Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Campus Director; Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr., Dean of Instruction; Dr. Ricky T. Derecho, Dean of Student Affairs and Services (SAS); Dr. Vivian M. Arreglo, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Lovella Christianne A. Gulle, Dean of the College of Technology and Engineering; Dr. Sutero S. SmartDocuMentor is a web-based internship management system developed as a capstone project by Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students of Cebu Technological University – Daanbantayan Campus.
